How to Pray Specifically

Matthew 21:22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Luke 18:1 "Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart".

Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God".

James 5:16 "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much". NASU

Asking God to grant us answers to our prayers is as old as the Bible itself. The children of God, since the beginning of life, relied on answered prayer. God loves his children to rely on him and to ask for their needs, and to cure the sick and give direction to their lives. Those people knew how to pray to the Holy Father. They were specific!

When a problem arose they addressed it specifically. They prayed for a solution to the problem, but they trusted God's wisdom in the outcome. Things were different then. They totally trusted the Almighty Father for their needs. Today we trust only ourselves because we trust no one else.

On the "Ten Most Wanted List", we have been asked to pray for those we would like to see change their lives and come walk with the Savior. We are not to judge their faith, just to pray for them. Pray specifically for them by name, one by one. Pray often! Pray whenever it comes to your mind or you feel the need. There is no greater feeling than to see change come to those on your list. And it will happen! Carry your prayer cards with you so they are never out of your mind.

When praying for someone with health needs, ask for specific information that pertains to the problem. Then you won't have to say, "If I would have only known!"

Prayer is the most powerful tool given to the believer by Almighty God. Use it wisely. Do it often. Praise Him when He answers. Pray more. Pray alone. Pray with a group. Pray in the morning. Pray in the evening. Just Pray!!!
Church Ministries Prayer Group

A small group ministry focusing on prayer is led by Thelma Rilling, Ruth Anne Pearce, and Becky Bregar meet each Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Library. The ladies are studying what the Bible says about prayer. Though the group prays for individuals, their major focus is praying for Central Christian Church and its ministries.

Other women and men are invited and encouraged to join the five people now praying. Meeting time may be changed to meet needs of participants. Remember – We will be praying for all of you and listening to what God has to say.
